Employee Voice mail Disclaimer
Please be advised that voicemail messages left on company-issued phone extensions are not considered private and may be accessed by authorized personnel, including your supervisor, IT staff, or HR representatives. It is important to note that after you leave Norwich, your extension and the contents of your voicemail inbox will likely be assigned to the person who takes over your role.
To ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information, we recommend that you:
- Avoid leaving personal or confidential information on your voicemail, such as your home address, Social Security number, or financial information.
- Use your personal phone for sensitive conversations.
- Delete old voicemail messages regularly to protect your privacy.
As your term comes to an end as a Norwich University employee, we ask that you think about several things as you leave the university. One of the most important things in regard to communications is configuring your phone and voice mail to leave accurate information about your phone line and how people can contact people assuming aspects of your role.
Communication; Norwich employees have two primary ways to contact fellow employees and non-Norwich constituents by email or phone. As you prepare to disembark, you should consider creating a new outgoing voicemail that reflects the current change.
Please start by updating your phone.
- Sign in at http://sso.norwich.edu/ using your Norwich email address.
- Select the Zoom app from the launch pad.
- You will now see the Zoom connect screen.

After you complete log in, select "Phone," and then "Settings."
- Scroll down to the unanswered call options.
Clicking the play button will play the current greeting.
Hello. Thank you for calling (Name) at extension (ext. #). I will be leaving the university on (date). Please contact (name) for further assistance.
- You can use that same menu to set up forwarding of unanswered calls to another extension.
