Safe Exam Browser - SEB

Concept

Safe Exam Browser is a web browser environment to carry out e-assessments securely. The software turns any computer temporarily into a secure workstation. It controls access to resources like system functions, other websites and applications and prevents unauthorized resources being used during an exam.

Setup

• Faculty may request that SEB setup instructions and a sample SEB enabled quiz be ported to a NUoodle course of their choice so they may learn how to set up an SEB practice quiz for their students.
• Prior to taking an SEB quiz, students must download the SEB browser and configuration file.
• Giving the students a low stakes practice SEB quiz is strongly recommended prior to giving students a high stakes SEB exam.
• SEB is compatible with up-to-date versions of PCs, Macs, and iPads. However a Quit Password is mandatory for iPads, optional for PCs and Macs
