Secure W2 For Mac.

Secure W2 For Mac

Norwich IT working with our Vendors has enabled a simpler way to access Norwich wireless resources. Instead of using your Norwich credentials, you can install a certificate that completes authentication for you to the network.  The advantage of certificate-based authentication is that you do not have to update your password on your device every time you change it.

  1. Join the Guest Network on your Mac-OS-based device

Notice: Norwich-managed iPads and Apple Computers install this certificate automatically during configuration.

  • Select the "Guest" from the available wireless networks.
  • Scroll through the Terms of Service and click "Accept."  The "Accept" will not allow you to click until you scroll through the message.

  • When your device is provided access, the screen will appear as such. You can now exit out of the ”Join Network” window.
  1. Navigate to http://wifi.norwich.edu in the browser of your choice.

  • Click “Join Now,” which will download the W2 software.

3. Open the .dmg file and double-click on the "secure w2” logo.

  • In the W2 application, click “next”.

  • A webpage will open, prompting you to log in with your Norwich account information.

  •  After signing in, you should receive a success message. Leave this tab open until installation is complete.

  • Return to “Secure W2 Join Now” and click next again.

  • Click “OK” and navigate to your “System Settings”. It may be automatically opened for you.

4. Double-click on “Norwich University Norwich” and click “Install”

  • Then click “Install” once more. You will have to enter your system’s password twice.

  • Once you receive this screen, you can click “Done” and close out all tabs opened during the installation and configuration process.

5. Upon installing the certificate to the Mac device, it will automatically connect to Norwich Wi-Fi.
