What is Company Portal?

Company Portal is a program made by Microsoft that allows you to download or remove software that Norwich has made available to you, check on your company device status, and request support from Norwich ITS. You can also change your Norwich account password, change your user account information, and sync your machine to get the latest updates.

How do I download software?

  1. Click startUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  2. Type "Portal"
  3. Click "Company Portal" in the resultsUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  4. Click "Apps" on the sidebarUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  5. Find the software you wish to install in the list of available softwareUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  6. Click on InstallUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  7. Wait for it to Install - You may see the following
    • A greyed out Install button under the software name Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
    • You may see "Download Pending" in the upper-right corner of the Software page on Company PortalUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
    • You may see a pop-up like this on the bottom right of your computerUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
    • You may see "Installing" in the upper-right corner of the Software page on Company PortalUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  8. If the software installed successfully, you should see:
    • A pop-up in the bottom right of your screen that says "Installed Successfully"Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
    • A message that says it's installed inside the Company PortalUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
    • The Install button now says "Reinstall" or "Uninstall"Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)

How do I remove the software I downloaded?

  1. Click startUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  2. Type "Portal"
  3. Click "Company Portal" in the resultsUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  4. Click "Downloads & Updates"Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  5. Find the software you want to remove and click it. NOTE: You will not be able to uninstall everything listed as Installed; many of these are mandatory. You are only abel to uninstall software that you installed through the Company Portal.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  6. Click "Uninstall"Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)

Giving your device an alias

  1. Click startUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  2. Type "Portal"
  3. Click "Company Portal" in the resultsUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  4. Choose Devices

  5. Choose your current device - it says "This device." It's likely you only have one, but if you have multiple, this will be helpful. The screenshot shows what it looks like with multiple devices registered to your account

  6. Click the little pencil beside your computer's name

  7. Rename your computer

Please note, this will not affect your machine's name for the IT department! This is an alias that will help you if you use multiple computers.
