Service Level Agreement (SLA) Legacy Moodle/OpenLMS System Access

1. Purpose

This SLA defines the limited access and support for the decommissioned Moodle/OpenLMS system, maintained by ITS for historical reference only.

2. Scope of Access

  • Access is restricted to up to ten (10) named individuals as approved by the CIO or CISO.
  • Approved use cases:
    • Accreditation documentation
    • Grade disputes
    • Retrieval of legacy course content
  • Users must access the system using a Norwich-managed device connected to the Norwich network or VPN.
  • Access requests must be submitted via https://its.norwich.edu and must include justification based on need-to-know.

3. Access Management

  • Access is provisioned manually by ITS upon approval.
  • Access does not expire automatically but may be revoked at any time.
  • Users must comply with the university's Acceptable Use Policy and FERPA regulations.

4. Support

  • Support is limited to login issues only.
  • ITS will not extract data from the system.
  • No troubleshooting or error resolution will be provided.
  • Support will be provided on a best-effort basis by the Systems and Architecture team.

5. System Availability and Maintenance

  • The system is hosted on a virtual machine.
  • Access is on a best-effort basis. There are no uptime guarantees.
  • No regular maintenance, upgrades, or enhancements will be performed.

6. Data Handling

  • Users may download content only to Norwich-managed devices.
  • Interaction with the system is allowed, but changes are not guaranteed to persist.
  • No backups will be performed.
  • Data recovery is not guaranteed.

7. Security

  • Access is secured by username and password.
  • No multi-factor authentication is enabled.
  • No logging or audit trails are maintained.

8. Ownership and Governance

  • The system is owned and managed by the ITS department.
  • A formal decommissioning plan is in development.
  • The SLA affirms that no updates or enhancements will be made.
