Secure W2 For iOS
Norwich IT working with our Vendors has enabled a simpler way to access Norwich wireless resources. Instead of using your Norwich credentials, you can install a certificate that completes authentication to the network for you. The advantage of Certificate-based authentication is not having to update your password on your device every time you change it.
- Join the Guest Network on your iOS-based device. Notice: Norwich-managed iPads and Apple Computers install this certificate automatically during configuration.
- Select Guest from the available wireless networks.
- Scroll through the Terms of Service and click "Accept." The "Accept," will not allow you to click until you scroll through the message.
- When your device is provided access the screen will appear as such. Tap on "Done."
- Open the Norwich SSO Dashboard (http://sso.norwich.edu) in the browser of your choice. You can also go to http://wifi.norwich.edu.
- Complete Authentication using your Norwich email address. Please note: You cannot use @stu.norwich.edu. This is only an alias.
- Select "Work or school account."
- You may have to enter your password and complete MFA input.
-
Launching the SecureW2 app from your Norwich SSO Launchpad will redirect you to the SecureW2 website.
-
Click "Sign-in." The "Sign-in" button will be replaced with "Join Now."
- By clicking "Join Now," you will be asked to Allow a download to your device.
- After the certificate is downloaded you will be offered a "Close," dialog.
- Now appear the instructions on how to complete the installation.
- Returning to "Setting," on your iOS device, you will want to select General.
- From General, select "VPN & Device Management,"
- Tap on the entry under "Downloaded Profile,"
- Choose "Install," in the upper right. You will be requested to then enter your phone's PIN or Passcode.
- Confirm "Install," at the bottom.
- Upon installing the certificate to the iOS device, it will automatically connect to Norwich Wi-Fi.
