NOTE: The user data shown in the screen captures below (Email, auth codes, A numbers, etc.) are example values only and are NOT to be used in the actual claim process for your account.
The claim process for your Norwich account begins with a welcome email that provides account information and outlines steps on how to proceed. Below is an example of that email:

Clicking the link in the email will take you to the welcome screen of the Norwich Identity Claim Portal, as shown below. Click the “Next” button to begin the claim process.

Here, you will locate your Norwich identity by providing your “A number” (student or employee ID number, often shown as A#) along with the Norwich email address and authorization code included in your welcome email.
Students will receive their A# in their Accepted Student package. Employees should receive theirs as part of their on boarding paperwork.

Once the A#, email, and authorization code are entered, click “Submit”.
Upon submission, a verification PIN will be sent to the PERSONAL email account where you received your welcome email, and you will be prompted to enter the PIN and verify it.

This email will look like this:

Enter the PIN from that email and click “Verify” to continue the process.
Next, you will be presented with an Abbreviated Acceptable Use Policy. Before you are granted access to Norwich University systems, you must understand the terms of our acceptable use policy and agree to abide by them.
Please read ALL of this, then check the box indicating that you have read the terms and accept them. Checking the box will activate the “Next” button so you can proceed.

Upon acceptance, we will collect and verify your account's recovery information. Typically, the Recovery Email field is pre-populated with your personal email address. If not, enter the personal email address that you will use to regain access to your Norwich account if recovery is needed. Recovery emails must be sent to a mailbox that you will retain access to for the duration of your time at Norwich University.
Similarly, add a personal phone number that can receive a recovery code via text message.

Clicking “Update,” will send test codes to your recovery email and phone number and open a validation form.

Now, let’s set up a password for your Norwich account. Enter a password that meets the requirements on the screen, then type it again to verify that you’ve entered it correctly. Click “Next” to complete the account creation process.

Once submitted, it’s time for your first login into the Norwich System. You’ll be presented with a sign-in screen like the one below. Here, enter your @norwich email address as the username and, when prompted, enter the password you created in the previous step.

This completes the account claim and initial account setup process. Next, you’ll need to secure your account by adding Multi-factor Authentication (MFA).
