Leaving Norwich, Employee Hardware and Data Considerations

Leaving Norwich; Computer Hardware and Email Concerns.

As your time comes to an end as a Norwich University employee, you need to configure several things as you leave the university. Depending on your role at the university, you may be responsible for daily jobs and feeds in Banner or other production databases.

Your Norwich University Office 365 account is suspended upon completion of work. Any personal data on your Norwich workstation or Office365 must be duplicated to other storage before your last day's end-of-business. Access to your account is not permitted after account suspension.

Things to complete before leaving;

  1. Starting a week or more before your last day of work, you should create an auto-reply to your mailbox. The message should express that you are leaving Norwich and where messages should be directed in your absence.
  2. Determine what documents in your OneDrive are crucial to the seamless functioning of your department. It would be best to use OneDrive to share these documents with others in the department for business continuity.
  3. Inventory the hardware assigned to you to complete your role. Your department owns your hardware. Your computer, phone, and peripherals are configured for other employees within your department. Before equipment is reassigned, IT cleans and reformats the hardware.
  4. An employee leaving Norwich must change the outgoing message on their phone. For details on how to change your voice mail please review the document found here.
