Accessing Group Mailbox through Outlook Web App.

Many Norwich employees are asked to help maintain group mailboxes for their departments. These mailboxes are frequently added to a users local Outlook app on their computer by scripting. This article though provides the steps to access those shared mailboxes when using the Microsoft Outlook Web App (OWA). Access to these mailboxes is granted when a supervisor asks for a specific user to have access to a specific mailbox.

 

  1. Navigate to the Norwich SSO page and complete authentication.

  1. Click on the waffle in the upper left hand corner of the browser to display the Office365 web application suite.

  1. Select Outlook from the list of applications.

  1. In the upper right hand corner of the Outlook window you will see you avatar, or a variation of your initials.  Please click there and select "Open another mailbox."

  1. A new window will appear where you can search by the mailbox name or email address.

 

  1. Chose the mailbox you are looking for from the list and click Open.

You will now be able to, depending on your permissions, view, reply, and make calendar appointments for this mailbox address.
