Reset Network Connectivity on an iOS Device.

Forgetting/Re-Adding a Network on an iPad

Created 01-APR-2020

Occasionally you will find that your iPad is receiving slow internet or you are not connecting properly to your main network. In this case we want to forget the network and then try logging into the network again. Below are the steps on how to perform this activity

  1. Go to your Settings app and select your Wi-Fi options. This will show your available networks and what network you are connected to currently.

  1. You will find a blue “I” within a circle to the right of the network name as shown below. Select this to bring up your network options.

  1. In your network options menu, you will see a highlighted option “Forget this Network”. Select this option to forget the network and confirm it again when prompted to remove the network settings completely from your device.

  1. This will bring you right back to your Wi-Fi settings. Refresh your available networks by turning your wifi on and off again. You can do this by selecting the green toggle to the right of Wi-Fi on Wi-Fi menu.

  1. Select the network you want to connect to, in this case the network we have just recently forgotten. Enter a password if any, and after a few seconds you should be connected to your network.
