How To: Update Your Password on a Norwich Jamf Managed Mac

If you have a Norwich-owned Mac computer, Norwich employs a management portal for Apple hardware called Jamf Pro.  With Jamf Pro we have installed an application called Jamf Connect that links your Norwich (Azure) Account to the local account on the machine, so that when you change your password, you can use the new password to log into your Mac. When it is time to reset your password please follow these steps.

  1. Please find Jamf Connect.  It is likely in your Menu Bar.  The icon is a square with the letter J in it.  If the application is not running you can find it in your Applications folder.

  2. Click on the icon to reveal the options.  The first thing you will want to select is "Connect."

  3. If you still need to authenticate, select Sign in.  Otherwise, it will say "Connect" in that space.  When you choose Sing-in, you will be presented with an Office365 authentication window.  Please enter your Norwich email address and current password.
  4. After completing the connect steps, please select "Change Known Password."
  5. This will open a new window on the screen that looks like the standard Office365 password change box

  6. Enter your current password and then your new password twice.  Jamf Connect will now update your Norwich account password as well as the local password on your machine (Including Filevault).
